Lowell Adult Day Treatment (LADT) provides five-day per week intensive treatment for adults with persistent mental illness. Using a group therapy model, LADT supports people by providing crisis assessment and intervention, case management support with symptom management, skills training, socialization and ultimately improved quality of life.

Group topics range from substance use disorder recovery groups, innovative therapies, such as equine assisted therapy at Ironstone Farms, as well as social outings such going to the Topsfield Fair. In addition to coffee and breakfast every morning, program staff also assists coordinating transportation, if needed, and can help attendees connect with other social service agencies, such as food pantries.

Staff take a collaborative approach with individuals and their provider team to assist people in achieving their educational, occupational and recovery goals. Treatment includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); dialectical behavioral therapy skills training (DBT); biopsychosocial interventions, equine assisted therapy and active community involvement. LADT accepts Medicaid and Medicare insurance plans.
