An Open Letter to the Bridgewell Community

As we step into 2025, it already feels as though this year has been unfolding for much longer.   The nation is at a crossroads, faced with uncertainty, division, and an undercurrent of anxiety about the future. Hard-won progress — achieved through decades of advocacy, resilience, and dedication — is now at risk. The foundational principles of equity and inclusion that have shaped a more just society face challenges that threaten to undo generations of advancement.

At Bridgewell, we recognize that true progress is not linear, and moments of challenge demand even greater commitment to our values. As voices rise to erase Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) from our national discourse, we reaffirm our unwavering dedication to these principles. DEIB is not merely a set of words; it represents who we are as an organization and a community. It is the foundation that allows us to foster an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. We will not deviate from this path, nor will we allow fear or opposition to diminish our resolve. Bridgewell will always be a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all.

Furthermore, we stand in steadfast solidarity with the transgender community at a time when their rights, dignity, and very existence are being challenged. Across the country, we are witnessing harmful rhetoric and policies that seek to marginalize and vilify trans individuals. Bridgewell unequivocally rejects hate, discrimination, and efforts to undermine the rights of any group. Our commitment to advocating for, supporting, and uplifting the trans community remains unwavering. We will continue to foster an environment that affirms every person’s right to live as their authentic self, free from fear and discrimination.

Now, more than ever, we must come together as a community rooted in compassion, respect, and justice. We must amplify voices that champion inclusion, push back against efforts to divide us, and stand firm in our shared belief that diversity makes us stronger.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we will continue to create a more inclusive and just community.

Respectfully,

Chris

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the light surrounding you
