Bridgewell’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Committee members recently elected Brent Brown as the group’s chairperson. Brent has worked as Transportation Manager at Bridgewell for over 10 years. In addition to previous nonprofit and government roles, he has served as an educator for the Healing and Transcending Racial Trauma series, presented at national conferences, and served as a group leader for the Be the Bridge racial reconciliation group facilitated by UniteBoston.
Brent is also featured in the book, Young, Gifted, and Black: A Journey of Lament and Celebration by Sheila Wise Rowe, which tells real-life stories of celebration and lament that point toward hope, joy, and healing for Black millennials and younger adults. Brent will use this experience to help facilitate the committee’s ongoing efforts to help Bridgewell progress on its DEIB journey and foster a more inclusive, equitable work environment and a stronger sense of belonging among employees and the people Bridgewell serves.
