Bridgewell and SharkNinja celebrated Disability Pride Month and National Ice Cream Month with an ice cream social for 100 participants and staff at the Kelly J. Martin Day Center in Lynn.
Volunteers from Needham-based SharkNinja’s diversity, equity and inclusion group made and served homemade ice cream during the event, using several of their Ninja CREAMi™ ice cream makers. The celebration also included arts and crafts, Disability Pride Month trivia, and a presentation by volunteers on how ice cream is made, including the inside scoop on how the Ninja CREAMi™ was developed from one of the inventors, Jared Proulx.
The presentation included the progression of the different prototypes that led in the current Ninja CREAMi product design and the group donated 9 Ninja CREAMi™ machines to Bridgewell’s Day Programs.
Thank you to all the volunteers – it was a delicious afternoon!
