Congratulations to Tasheaka!

From July 2023 through April 2024, Tasheaka resided at the Johnson Street Women’s Program and then moved into one of Bridgewell’s Affordable Housing units in Lynn after leaving Bridgewell’s Johnson Street, Women’s Program.

She graduated from the Supporting Transitions & Reentry (STAR) Program in Lynn earlier this month, a community-based initiative operated by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department which provides justice-involved individuals with supervision, services, and support they need to successfully transition back into the community.

While participating in STAR, Tasheaka:

• Completed the Tech Goes Home- Small Business Group
• Earned her high school diploma
• Obtained her driver’s license
• Was inducted into the National Honors Society (only 2 of the 11 graduates achieved this distinction)

Her achievement was celebrated by her mother, daughter, family members, the Dorchester Recovery Court Coordinator, a mentor she met early in her treatment, Johnson Street staff and her Bridgewell case manager, all of whom were present to support her at the ceremony.
