What started out as a whim from a few Bridgewell staff last week turned into a wonderful Easter weekend for our residents. Barbara and Erica had an idea to deliver cookies to our residential programs for the Easter holiday. When they put out the word that they needed cookies, within just three hours they had received monetary donations and hundreds of cookies. They purchased cookies from D’Orsi’s in Peabody and Josie’s in Wilmington who donated additional cookies for a total of 550 and received donations of 602 additional freshly baked cookies that were dropped off throughout the day on Friday. With Dina and Mikayla joining them, they were able to package all 1,152 cookies for delivery.
But that’s not all! They also received a donation of frozen pizzas and chips from Topsfield House of Pizza that they delivered alongside the cookies. Barbara took a hop inside the Easter Bunny suit and with her helpers, was able to visit and deliver the cookies, pizzas, and chips to all 70 homes throughout the weekend.
A simple gesture of delivering cookies turned into a community effort of generosity, providing cheer and happiness to our residents and staff.
Thank you all for making this a wonderful memory for our residents.
