Samon, a native of Cambodia, has been a resident of Pathfinder since March 2019. His goal was to become an American Citizen and with the help of residential manager, Tamieka Thomas, he worked hard to fulfill his dream.
Each day, Tamieka would ask Samon 10 to 20 questions from the Citizenship Study Guide. He would then translate them into his native Cambodian and work each night on the questions. As Tamieka noted, she was an American Citizen and often could not answer them! Samon would get them all right every morning.
On September 30, 2020, Samon took the Citizenship test and passed it on his first try. A proud moment for him and for Pathfinder. The residents and staff held a celebration in his honor!
