Bridgewell to Honor Late President & CEO
Kelly J. Martin at 2019 Imagine the Possibilities Gala
WCVB’s Katie Thompson to emcee annual fundraising event at Fairmont Copley Plaza
Peabody, Mass. – Feb. 2019 – Bridgewell, a local nonprofit providing social and human services empowering people with disabilities and other life challenges to live safe, self-directed and productive lives, will host its 11th Annual Imagine the Possibilities Gala Friday, March 15, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. The event raises critical funds to support the individualized needs of people in Bridgewell’s care.
As part of the evening’s programming, Bridgewell will posthumously honor the late Kelly J. Martin, former President & CEO, with its s Excellence in Service Award. Kelly was an integral part of Bridgewell for more than three decades, working diligently to protect the rights of people with disabilities and other life challenges and enrich the lives of those the organization serves. Because of her unwavering commitment and leadership, Bridgewell is supporting more people than ever before.
“Kelly was a true visionary and leader,” said Christopher Tuttle Interim President & CEO of Bridgewell. “Her unwavering commitment and passionate advocacy will continue to influence our organization in the years ahead. We will forever be indebted to Kelly for her service to Bridgewell and the community.”
Last year, Bridgewell’s Imagine the Possibilities Gala raised more than $350,000 in support of its mission. Since its inception, the gala has raised just under $3 million in generous donations to help deliver support through community housing, day programs, outpatient treatment, recovery services, education and employment training.
This year’s gala will be emceed by WCVB-TV reporter Katie Thompson and includes a cocktail reception, plated dinner, raffle and live and silent auctions. For the first time in the gala’s history, the general public can participate in the silent auction online beginning Feb. 28. Now through March 15, tickets for the gala’s “Experience of a Lifetime” raffle can be purchased online for chance at winning one of the following exciting experiences: a one-week vacation at a private villa in Jamaica for up to 10 guests, two night getaway to Nashville; or an on-field Boston Red Sox experience!
