The Bridgewell Special Olympics team has added a basketball team this winter. The team started in December 2019 and will continue on until March 2020, consisting of persons served and staff volunteers known as partners. A Bridgewell Special Olympics basketball team hasn’t been available for over ten years but we added one this year in response to our growing community.
Bridgewell has two different options for our basketball teams. One is focused more on fundamental skills coaching, which entails basic basketball skills and drills. This team will participate in the March 2020 at the Winter Games in a one day event In Marlborough. Our competitive team will play in community partner games in various venues, the qualifying round game and then onto the Winter Games in March.
Both teams have two head coaches Kelli Hyland and Nicole Doucette Page. The competitive team will consist of persons served and partners- Colleen Coughlin, Jessica Crowley, Amanda Murray, Kimberly Eldred, Conor Janson, Michelle Anketell, and Chris Tuttle.
