Bridgewell Intern Honored with Statewide Disability Advocacy Award

On August 4, Bridgewell intern Luca Moretti was selected from among hundreds of interns statewide to receive the Steven E. Collins Leadership in Disability Advocacy Award.

The award honors an Urban Youth Intern who demonstrates transformative leadership through innovative contributions that advance the well-being and inclusion of people with disabilities. These contributions may include program development, expanded access to services, enriched opportunities for individuals, or meaningful community engagement.

Luca earned this recognition through his active participation in two summer DDS events and his thoughtful contributions to roundtable discussions about how interns can support individuals in making choices in their daily lives while working alongside direct care professionals. He also proposed new ideas for the UYC internship program and led conversations with intern peers from other agencies during collaborative events.
