Recently participants from Bridgewell’s Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) have been going to volunteer at Phillips Manor Nursing Home in Lynn. Some of the favorite activities of the volunteers and the residents include hand massages with aroma therapy lotions, seated exercises to music, reading and listening to stories and spending time together.
CBDS participant Elaine says, “Greeting the ladies with a smile makes them feel happy, I like making them happy.”
Our volunteers will be going to the nursing home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is truly a win-win situation for everyone involved. We are looking forward to continuing this partnership while we develop and expand our opportunities for career exploration in the North Shore area!
