Bridgewell’s Adult Education and Recreation program held a “Going Green” series in August and September. At Steve’s Florist & Greenhouse in Lynn, owner Salvy Migliaccio, Jr. showed the group how to plant, feed, water and add TLC to the plants each participant took home.IMG_6529

Participants took a tour of the greenhouse, moved summer plants inside and learned the process of getting ready for fall. Salvy, pictured above with the group, had everyone working in the soil – it was fun and informative.

The second part of the series featured a “Going Green” dinner with Chef Grace Martins in the kitchen with vegetable soup. Participants enjoyed the soup and learned about healthy eating.

And lastly, Bridgewell staff Casey McNulty and Dan Nadeau, both of whom have backgrounds in art, worked with folks to paint and embellish a rock which could be used for a door stop, decoration, paper weight or even a pet rock at Camp Lions.

Thank you to all who made our Going Green series a success! Our participants really enjoyed doing and learning fun new things!
