Congratulations, Hamuza!

The Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP) awards Continuing Education Scholarships of $1,000 at its annual LEAD! Conference, recognizing entry-level human service workers or self-advocates demonstrating a commitment to advancing their education.

Congratulations to Bridgewell Direct Support Professional Hamuza Sebunya for receiving one of four scholarships awarded at the conference this year! He will be using this scholarship to continue his education in the field of nursing.

Hamuza was hired at one of Bridgewell’s residential programs in Littleton in November of 2020. Despite the challenging hiring process during the pandemic, Hamuza arrived at eager to join the team and make a difference

Hamuza has a very welcoming and calming approach and although soft-spoken, Hamuza is very confident in his mission to better the lives of the gentlemen living at his program as well as the program itself. Hamuza works closely with the gentlemen there to increase their independence and reach each of their goals. Hamuza is well respected by his peers, families of individuals served, management, and external vendors. Hamuza does more than just provide care, he builds trust, fosters independence, and makes each day brighter for the gentlemen he supports.
