In October 2014, Executive Office of Health and Human Services Secretary John Polanowicz toured Bridgewell’s Rosewood I and II Day Habilitation programs to learn more about the unique services offered to young adults with autism transitioning into adult services.
Secretary Polanowicz oversees 15 state agencies in his role including Department of Developmental Services, which funds most of Bridgewell’s programs.

Director of Day and Residential Services Nancy Martico led the tour explaining the unique features of the program including site design, incorporation of technology and employment supports.

Career Specialist Marc Jamieson discussed Bridgewell’s Employment Supports program with the Secretary. Bridgewell has several partnerships in the community including local businesses, colleges and volunteer opportunities to help individuals secure employment.

Impressed with the Rosewood Drive programs, Secretary Polanowicz explained that these visits provide him with a better understanding of the direct impact state-level budgeting issues has on the people in Bridgewell’s services.
