Earlier this month, Tom Gould, owner of Treadwell’s Ice Cream and Peabody City Councilor, toured Bridgewell programs including a residence for young adults with autism in Peabody, Rosewood Drive Day Habilitation programs in Danvers and a women’s recovery program in Lynn. He saw many familiar faces from his work with the Challenger League as well as his community ties.
Bridgewell is pleased to honor Tom Gould with the 2016 Visionary Leadership Award for all his work with children and adults with disabilities along with his public service in the community.
Through public service and leadership for numerous non-profit boards, his commitment to our community is truly admirable. Tom’s persona as the “Treadwell’s Ice Cream Man,” bringing ice cream parties and smiles to so many (including all the individuals he met on his tours), is inspiring and so appreciated.
Tom will be presented with the award at the 2016 Imagine the Possibilities Gala at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. Secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders will be receiving the Excellence in Service Award for her role as Secretary and former role as Commissioner of Mental Health. She has continued to champion significant legislative reforms in mental health, insurance parity, fundamental patient rights and children’s health and advocacy.
Longtime Boston sportscaster and past honoree Bob Lobel will emcee this year’s Gala again.
Over the summer and leading up to the signature event, Bridgewell will have an online auction to countdown to this year’s Gala. Learn more about ticket and sponsorship information by clicking here.
