DSCN1779This summer, WCVB-TV Channel Five’s President and General Manager Bill Fine, this year’s 2014 Excellence in Service Award recipient, toured Bridgewell’s Boston Street Day Habilitation Center. He met several individuals, learned about the programming and shook a lot of hands.

This award is presented each year at the Imagine the Possibilities Gala and reserved for those who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to those in need in our communities.

Under Bill’s leadership, WCVB-TV has been a true champion for so many. As Media Partners, WCVB-TV has elevated our profile, offering increased exposure and paving the way for new relationships.

IMG_0685In September, Boston University’s Helen Tager-Flusberg, Ph.D., this year’s 2014 Visionary Leadership Award honoree, visited Bridgewell’s Rosewood Drive I & II and a residence, both focused on the unique needs of young adults with autism.

Pictured: Helen toured with Director of Day and Residential Services Nancy Marticio, Bridgewell Board Member Jeff Roy and President & CEO Bob Stearns.

Helen is a Professor at Boston University and Director of the Center for Autism Research Excellence. Her pioneering research on autism makes her the ideal recipient of Bridgewell’s Visionary Leadership Award, which recognizes an outstanding individual for excellence to a community or social cause.

Their philanthropic and civic commitment is truly admirable and we are thrilled to honor Bill and Helen this November.
