This past spring, Lindsay deVilliers interned at Bridgewell while completing her senior semester at Gordon College where she was studying Communications Arts.

At Bridgewell, she assisted the development and advancement department with numerous tasks including public and media relations. She found this opportunity through her public relations class, where students selected a non-profit organization and assisted with their public relations.
Through her class project and internship, Lindsay had specific objectives to complete such as drafting and pitching press releases, writing a full-length feature and presenting her project to her class, advisor and Bridgewell supervisor.
Check back in a few weeks for Lindsay’s feature on Bridgewell’s Special Olympics team!
She worked on many different projects including updating media lists, promoting Bridgewell’s ADDP award recipients and highlighting Bridgewell’s Special Olympics team. While interning at Bridgewell, she was also interning at the Massachusetts Special Olympics, which allowed her to have a dual perspective on Bridgewell’s Special Olympics program.
Lindsay first became involved with Bridgewell in 2009 as a Therapeutic Art Instructor. She would organize weekly art lessons for Bridgewell individuals and help them build skills while expressing their creativity.
Though Lindsay is the first public relations intern from Gordon College, Bridgewell has a long-standing partnership with the college through its Lynn Initiative and Social Work Department. We look forward to continuing working with all their students to help connect people with possibilities.
Congratulations on graduating and we wish you the best in your future, Lindsay!
