Roseway, one of Bridgewell’s day habilitation programs, was magically transformed into Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry last month to celebrate the completion of reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone during the program’s Reading Club.

Developmental Specialist Molli Marshall is the muggle responsible for the special event. Individuals entered the program into Ollivander’s Wand shop, where Molli greeted everyone with hand-made wands. From there, they went through Platform 9 ¾, to the program locker room, where they took the Hogwart’s Express to the castle’s Great Hall, donned with levitating House Flags and (battery operated) candlesticks.
After being sorted into houses and treated to a feast at lunchtime, individuals competed for the House Cup in events like Quidditch, Bingo, Pin the Scar on Harry, and Pictionary. True to the novel, Gryffindor won the Cup, which is proudly displayed in the program’s trophy room.
Everyone finished the day off enjoying chocolate covered pretzel wands and Nimbus 2000 broomstick dessert snack they made in weekly Cooking Group. Molli has been with Bridgewell for over a year and a half and is currently working on her MBA at Southern New Hampshire University. She one day hopes to start a non-profit for affordable housing to serve at-risk populations.
