PROJECT-BASED VOUCHER PROGRAM (PBV)

Bridgewell is soliciting proposals from local property owners with existing multifamily projects to participate in the Section 8 Mainstream Project Based Voucher program.   The project must be designed to assist non-elderly persons with disabilities and their families who were previously homeless and who are currently in permanent supportive housing or a rapid rehousing project.

Proposals are due August 12, 2021.

The Criteria for Selection also include:

  • The building and the apartments when completed must meet federal Housing Quality Standards as defined by HUD at 24 CFR part 5, subsection G.
  • The project must be consistent with the BRIDGEWELL’s long-term affordable housing goals.
  • The project is otherwise in compliance with all HUD and BRIDGEWELL PBV requirements and the number of units requested is consistent with current PBV RFP requirements.
  • The building owner must be otherwise eligible as detailed in the application for participation.
  • The housing site must be consistent with the deconcentration and expanding housing opportunity goals stated in this application and in the BRIDGEWELL’s PHA plan and with civil rights laws and regulations, including HUD’s rules on accessibility at 24 CFR 8.4.
  • No more than 25 units or 25% of the units in a building (whichever is greater) may receive PBV assistance except for projects that will house families (including disabled families) offered supportive services.

The Housing Authority may initially award up to 30 vouchers for project based Section 8 funding.

Only applications submitted in response to this advertisement and the accompanying Request for Proposal (RFP) will be considered for participation in this program.
