Last week, WCVB TV’s News Anchor Susan Wornick toured Bridgewell’s Boston Street Center in Lynn.
Wornick met several individuals in the employment supports program and day habilitation. Everyone she met had questions for her such as how long it takes her to get ready? What sports she likes? Does she go to crime scenes?
President & CEO Bob Stearns, Chief Operations Officer Kelly Johnson, and Director of Development and Advancement Cari Palmer accompanied the tour while Director of Day Services Nancy Marticio and Program Director Victoria Jasper explained more about each program and the services provided.
Wornick will be presented the Excellence in Service Award at this year’s Imagine the Possibilities Gala. The Excellence in Service Award is reserved for those who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to those in need in our communities.
“Susan Wornick’s support of Bethany Health Care Center Nursing, Mass General Cancer Center’s The MOMologues: Pink Ribbon Overdose, and Vinfen’s efforts for Asperger’s awareness, are but a small part of the many things she does every week for individuals in need and organizations struggling to serve. We are honored for the opportunity to recognize her generosity,” said Stearns.
Bridgewell will also present its 2012 Visionary Leadership Award to New England Council President and CEO James Brett for his work on behalf of people with developmental disabilities. The Visionary Leadership Award recognizes an outstanding individual for excellence to a community, social cause or Bridgewell.
The gala will be emceed by former WBZ-TV Channel 4’s former sportscaster Bob Lobel.
