We are pleased to announce that Bridgewell’s Assistant Program Director Shannon Winn will be running the Boston Marathon on behalf of Special Olympics Massachusetts!
Bridgewell is proud of our relationship with Special Olympics Massachusetts. With more than 85 individuals in participation, Team Bridgewell practices throughout the year in preparation for sectional and statewide competitions. Bridgewell athletes exemplify the true spirit of teamwork, dedication and passion!
On April 16, 2013, Shannon, who also volunteers as Team Bridgewell’s Assistant Track and Field Coach, will be running with five other incredible athletes in the name of dignity, unity and health for people with intellectual disabilities.
Along with her five teammates, also known as the Champions for the Special Olympics Movement, Shannon will be training through the grueling Massachusetts winter and running 26.2 miles on Marathon Monday! Shannon has a personal goal of raising $5,000 to support the year-round athletic training, competition and health-improvement programs of Special Olympics Massachusetts.
Please take a moment to visit Shannon’s personal fundraiser page to learn more about the Champions for the Special Olympics Movement group and consider helping the team “change the world” for people with disabilities by donating and spreading the word!
